The Butter Factory Arts Centre is located in the Noosa hinterland at Cooroy, in a converted old butter factory that was built in 1930. The butter factory closed in 1975 and was purchased by Noosa Council for use as a community centre in 1991. In 2016 Noosa Council handed the management of the centre over to the community. The Butter Factory Arts Centre is run by the Cooroy Future Group as an exhibition, workshop and events venue, which also includes a separate pottery studio. |

There are over 300 works held in the Sunshine Coast Art Collection including paintings, photography, works on paper, prints, sculpture, ceramics and textiles. Forming in 2008 following the amalgamation of the diverse art collections of the former Caloundra City and Maroochydore Shire Council's acquired since the late 1960s, the Sunshine Coast Art Collection has grown in strength and focus over the past decade. It aims to reflect and celebrate the character and culture of the Sunshine Coast through artworks that have a connection to the people and places of the region, and to preserve and display a collection of state and national significance through its broader holdings of contemporary Australian Art. |

This creative hub was once robust warehouses for the bustling port of Maryborough. The warehouses are among the oldest in Maryborough and have been sensitively restored to preserve the historic value of the buildings, while creating a contemporary exhibition space. Gallery at HOTA presents a lively program of exhibitions and events and is home to our multi-million dollar art collection, including one of the largest collections of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art in regional Australia. The Southern Downs Regional Council Collection includes artworks that have been donated and acquired from the 1970’s to the present day. There are approximately 900 pieces in the collection including historical photographs made up of works from the former Stanthorpe and Warwick Shire Councils. Recently the collection was valued at just under $3,000 000. |
