View of Dieppe harbour, with a choppy sea in the foreground, painted in pale greens, blues and yellows. The scene is scattered with seven small sailing boats, with several moored to the jetty running horizontally to the left. There are buildings on the quayside, some of which are coloured pale yellow, blue or white; in the background to the left is the church of Notre Dame des Greves.
